This past weekend I headed along to More Café at The Wave for their fun media and bloggers event. We were invited to come along and sample their new catering menu. And you know what that means, lots of food. Yay!!
I’ll level with you here, As a blogger in Oman we do get invited to some events, openings and media things but these aren’t always my kind of thing. Mostly I decline the invitation for a number of reasons- I don’t need a free dinner, I don’t have a baby sitter/too busy or I don’t like the expectation to then write lovely things about their brand.
More café is different – I actually enjoy eating there! I will never promote something to you that I don’t like myself. Infact, That very same day I had already been to More Café on a breakfast date with Mr Duncan. I would highly recommend their Eggs Benedict, yum!!
This event at More Café was a lot of fun. There was lots & lots of delicious food to sample, good company and lots of games and props to keep us all entertained and chatting through the afternoon.
Of course if they want us to talk about a catering menu then we have to sample the food itself… Time to tuck in!
There was a varied spread of delicious nibbly bites from mini quiche, prawn skewers, chicken tandoori sandwiches, mini burgers to sweeter treats like chocolate brownie bites. These are the perfect ‘finger food’ if you are hosting a party or get together. It definitely takes the stress out of cooking yourself!
After generously helping ourselves to the food on offer it was time for some games, the first being blindfolded food tasting. How cute are the personalised eye masks?!
Next up we joined the barista to try our shaky hands at making some fun coffee foam shapes. He showed us how to make some ‘basic’ shapes like a tulip or a bear. This was so much harder than I expected it to be but very amusing to watch everyone trying it.
In a panic my tulip coffee foam turned into a spider web which then resembled a flower, or maybe a star if you really squint. It definitely did not look like the example above. I need to practice this for next time.
It would be a shame to let all that good coffee go to waste…
Hanging about with the fellow Bloggers and social media addicts is always a lot of fun, it’s like a club no one else understands. Plus, no one cares how often you use your phone or update Instagram whilst holding a conversation. Great for a multi tasker like me.
The scrumptious catering menu can be found on their website, mOre cafe catering. Click on the link to see the huge list of options and prices available.
I’m hungry again just writing this post….
